The Journey So Far

I have been deeply interested in music for as long as I can remember. Even as a little child, I would listen to records and cassettes for hours on end. I was about 7 years old when I got my first keyboard - it was a present from my granddad. Later that same year I started taking music lessons at school and thus began my formal training in music.

When I was in Class 8, I joined my first band ever. It was a group formed by our music teacher - Mr. Vasanth Peter - who put kids from his music class together to form the school band.

We started playing pop songs in school competitions, charity events, and private parties of the families of the band members.

In Class 11, I joined my first rock band. We called ourselves Shadow Symphony. It was sort of a precursor to Panatella, which would go on to become quite popular, with us playing at several college events and cultural shows and performing quite a few headline shows as well.

After a while, we decided to try our hand at making music for commercials and an opportunity came up to make a jingle for a company called CallEzee. It was a huge deal for us as we got to work with famous Film Director, Mr. Vasanth, and popular singer, Srinivas. This was followed by a number of other corporate projects.

After this, I went on to make music independently and the first film I worked on was a short film called Saavi, directed by Mr. Srirama Santosh. It's a story of a day in the life of a key maker. This was my first step into the world of film music.

Then, I worked on 3 other short films on AIDS awareness which were a part of an initiative by Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi. They were directed by M. Sasikumar, Kiruthiga, and Mysskin.

A year after this, I got to work on my first feature film - Yuddham Sei Directed by Mysskin.
